    What’s the talk?

That’s according to a report by The Sheffield Star, who claimed that both Charlton Athletic and Ipswich Town are interested in a move for the 20-year-old in the upcoming transfer market, with the player’s contract at Hillsborough set to expire next month.

The report added that Sheffield Wednesday have the option to extent Hunt’s deal a further year, but at present this clause has not been activated.

    Chansiri heading for disaster

With a host of Wednesday players reaching the end of their current deals with the Owls this summer, Darren Moore will have a substantial rebuilding job on his hands ahead of the club’s 2021/22 League One campaign.

However, this could be something of a blessing in disguise for the 47-year-old, as Wednesday will be saving a considerable amount of wages from the departure of a number of their biggest earners, while the manager can also take the opportunity to build a team on a core of Wednesday’s younger talents.

One of the most promising players of the Owls’ youth setup is undoubtedly Hunt, with a report by The Athletic claiming that the £180,000-rated 20-year-old is “the player everyone at Wednesday is excited about” due to his excellent playmaking capabilities, his strong tackles and his general level of potential.

Indeed, former Wednesday manager Garry Monk stated his belief that Hunt is an “exciting” player with whom to work, as well as claiming that he feels the former Republic of Ireland under-19 international is a “big part of the future” at Hillsborough.

As such, if Dejphon Chansiri chooses against extending the contract of Hunt this summer, it would be a grave error on the part of the Wednesday owner, as the youngster very much appears to have the talent for Moore to build a team around next season.
