Orlando Bloom opens up about his relationship with Katy Perry: It’s fireworks

Orlando Bloom is one of Hollywood’s most recognizable actors. In addition to his films, the performer’s personal life is always of huge interest to the media.

During his recent interview on Trevor Noah’s podcast called ‘What Now?’, Bloom, 47, had no qualms in talking about his life with singer Katy Perry, eight years younger than him.

The interview also touched on the actor’s new documentary series, ‘Orlando Bloom: To The Edge’. The relationship of the ‘Lord of the Rings’ star and the singer continues to go from strength to strength and, from what Orlando said, they are looking for normalcy.

“I think one of the things that I fell in love with Katy was… she hates when I say this, so I have to word it carefully, but her music was everywhere, right?,” said Bloom.

“When I came up, it was just on every radio station, but I wasn’t conscious of… [it] wasn’t what I was listening to, but, I fell in love with Katheryn, this girl from Santa Barbara. And by the way, parents, pastors, living on food stamps.

    “We’re not talking glamorous, Montecito.”

Orlando Boom, on his love for Katy: I wouldn’t trade it for anything

The couple met in 2016 at one of the parties held after the Golden Globes, but it wasn’t until February 14, 2019 that they got engaged. Since then, the fruit of their love, their three-year-old daughter Daisy Dove was born.

In the same conversation, Bloom noted that he and Perry have an “understanding where we came from, what we worked to do, what we had to do to get to where we got to,” while adding that she “definitely demands that I evolve.”

“I feel I do the same for her. And that makes for fireworks, pardon the pun. But it also makes for a lot of fun and a lot of growth.”

As for their relationship, Bloom stated: “I wouldn’t change it for anything, even when sometimes it feels like, ‘how do we do this?’ Because we’ve got these two giant careers and lives, and hers is even, you know… it’s like a universe sometimes.

“But I think I just keep coming back to her and trying to hold her hand and walk her back to the sand pit and be like… we’re just gonna build a sandcastle.”
