Arsenal goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez sees no problem in the way Mikel Arteta has treated Mateo Guendouzi and Mesut Ozil over the past few games.
Emiliano Martinez is in support of Arteta and the discipline he has brought to the Arsenal side so far.
In terms of personnel treatment, the likes of Mesut Ozil and Mateo Guendouzi have seen much of that discipline first-hand.
Both players have been frozen out recently under Arteta. Ozil has not made an appearance since the Premier League’s restart last month. Guendouzi has been suspended since he grabbed the throat of Neal Maupay at the Amex stadium.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Martinez believes the Spaniard’s uncompromising style has sent a message to the Gunners squad over what he expects from them.
“You’re in or you’re out, you’re with him or without him, and there’s no discussion on that,” he said.
“We know that if we want to play and we want to be at this football club, we have to be on board.” Martinez added.
“That’s good for the team because no one can relax. If you relax, you don’t train properly or you don’t perform like he wants you to, you’re out.
“You have to follow him and that’s what we’re trying to do now.”
After a slow start to their Premier League return last month, the Gunners have won three league matches in a row to keep their slim hopes of Champions League qualification alive.
Martinez has played a key role in that resurgence, keeping two clean sheets in his last two outings since he replaced Bernd Leno in goal.
Meanwhile, only total commitment can see the duo of Ozil and Guendouzi regain the full trust of Mikel Arteta.
