Watford’s relegation means Sadio Mane could be granted his transfer wish, with Liverpool linked with a move for Ismaila Sarr.
Both Mane and Sarr started their careers in Senegal’s Generation Foot academy before moving to Europe, and Sarr has previously branded Mane his “big brother”.
And Mane too is a big fan of his compatriot, previously hailing the winger’s speed and talent, and admitting his jealousy that Watford had managed to secure his signature.
“He’s rapid,” Mane said of Sarr. “I think defenders will struggle.
“Last time I was speaking to Robbo (Andy Robertson) I said ‘Watford have a really good player. I will need to help you more otherwise Ismaila Sarr will kill you, because he is a good dribbler and very, very fast’.”

The Watford Observer claim the Reds are one of a number of clubs keen on the 22-year-old, and Sarr’s respect for Mane could prove to be a big lure.
“Mane is not only a Senegal team-mate of mine but he is my inspiration and idol,” Sarr said previously.
“It will be perfect for me to play against him again. For me he is the best player in the world. For sure, the best African player in Europe.
“He’s our national team leader but he’s also a nice guy and I love him.”
