Ghanaian winger Christian Conteh swaps Kaiserslautern interest for FC Schalke 04 move

German-born Ghanaian winger, Christian Conteh, is set to move to FC Schalke 04, following in the footsteps of his brother, Sirlord Conteh, who recently made headlines with his transfer from SC Paderborn 07 to FC Heidenheim.

Christian Conteh, currently at VfL Osnabrück, was previously linked with a move to Kaiserslautern, but the latest reports from WAZ suggest that the Royal Blues have won the race for his signature. The deal is reportedly all but finalized, with Schalke edging out the Red Devils in the closing stages of negotiations.

However, an official announcement from the clubs is yet to be made, presumably due to a mutual agreement, as Osnabrück and Schalke are set to face each other next weekend, provided the match can proceed amidst ongoing stadium issues.

If VfL Osnabrück is relegated to the 3rd division, Conteh is expected to leave on a free transfer. Otherwise, Schalke will have to pay a fee of around 200,000 euros to secure his services before his current contract expires.

Conteh has been a standout performer for the purple and whites this season, scoring four goals and providing two assists in 28 games. His speed of play, in particular, has caught the eye of many, making him a sought-after talent in the transfer market.
