Caitlin Clark would be a failure in the BIG3 says Kenyon Martin: ‘She wouldn’t score a point’

Just like Ice Cube said, Caitlin Clark is a generational talent. The Iowa Hawkeyes guard is one of the best players of all time, however, people like former NBA player Kenyon Martin consider that she is a long way from being able to perform in a men’s league.

In recent days, actor and musician Ice Cube extended an invitation to play in the BIG3 basketball league, with a contract for 10 games and $5 million. In a lengthy post on his X account, Ice Cube believed Clark would “achieve tremendous success” in the 3×3 basketball tournament he founded and currently runs.

He recalled that the league offered former WNBA player Nancy Lieberman the opportunity to become the first head coach of a men’s professional team. The singer stressed that Lieberman had a successful time in BIG3, winning the championship in her first year as Power coach.

“I won’t deny what’s now already out there: BIG3 made a historic offer to Caitlin Clark. Why wouldn’t we? Caitlin is a generational athlete who can achieve tremendous success in the BIG3,” said Ice Cube. However, Martin disagreed.

    She wouldn’t score a point

In a talk on former player Gilbert Arenas’ podcast, Kenyon Martin claimed that the Hawkeyes’ guard would not be able to score a single point, mainly due to the league’s “prison style” play.

“It’s a step under prison ball. Could you imagine her getting stuck down on Reggie Evans? She gon’ take the ball out? As soon as she tries to cross that line, boom! Yo’ little a**,” Martin said very eloquently.

In this sense, it is worth remembering that the BIG3 league is mainly made up of retired players such as Gerald Green, Jason Richardson, and Rashard Lewis, among others. Despite this, the difference in physique and power with Clark is notable.

    Ice Cube’s reasons

Although Clark has not formally responded to the offer, as she is busy in the middle of the NCAA Tournament, Ice Cube made it very clear that he is looking to make BIG3 a viable option for all women basketball players in the United States.

“America’s women athletes should not be forced to spend their off-seasons playing in often dismal and dubious foreign countries just to make ends meet,” the rapper stated, still waiting for a response from Clark.
