Bayern complete the double beating Leverkusen 4-2

Bayern Munich has added the German Cup to their Bundesliga title by beating Bayer Leverkusen four-two in the DFB-Pokal final.

Once again Bayern Munich has confirmed their dominance of German domestic football, by clean sweeping the country’s two major trophies.

The Bavarian giants had already been crowned Bundesliga Champions, and tonight secured the crown of German DFB Cup winners.

Hansi Flick’s men ruthlessly ran into an early lead.

With David Alaba scoring in the 16th minute after being given permission by Lewandowski to take the free-kick.

The Polish striker was fouled by Tapsoba but decided Alaba’s left foot was better suited for this effort.

He was not wrong as the Austrian international scored.

Serge Gnarby doubled the lead in the 24th, after being denied only two minutes earlier by Hradecky in the Leverkusen goal.

The game was a relatively even affair, and a Kai Havertz inspired Leverkusen kept knocking but Bayern held them off.

It was right before the hour mark that Munich all but secured the win. It was none other than goal machine Robert Lewandowski who made it 50 goals in all competitions this season.

He scored in the 59th minute, striking the ball so hard it appeared to go through the Leverkusen keeper.

However, the goal seemed to inspire the trailing side, and only four minutes later in the 63rd minute, they pulled on back. Sven Bender losing his man and beating Neuer from close range.

There was still more to come from “Lewan-goal-ski” though, for all the power of his first goal, this one was a deft chip over the hapless keeper to make it four.

Peter Bosz’s side managed one more consolation goal, this tie Havertz scored from the penalty spot in what could be one of his last games for the club.

It was ultimately too littel too late, check out the highlights!
