The 2023/24 National League, North and South playoff finals has been confirmed following this weekend’s semi final ties.
Saturday saw 2nd place sides Barnet, Scunthorpe and Chelmsford all LOSE their playoff semi finals. You can see a review on all of them by clicking HERE.
So all eyes were on what happened Sunday, with the National League North seeing Brackley Town advance through to the final after beating Chorley 1-0.
On the verge of half time, everyone inside St. James Park was left asking ‘how hasn’t that gone in?’ as an absolute scramble from O’Sullivan’s in-swinger somehow saw Brackley not go in front.
Just after the break, Newton was in on goal after Hall threaded him through, but Urwin was able to get out quickly to deny an all but certain goal.
Chorley continued to hold off Brackley’s threat going forward with Urwin again stopping the ball from going in.
But despite a valiant effort from Chorley, Brackley broke the deadlock on 78 minutes, Riccardo Calder making no mistake after an excellent initial save from Urwin.
Brackley held on to win 1-0, although it ended with some tempers boiling over.
The hosts will now take on Boston United in the final.
A bridge too far for @chorleyfc in the end – beaten 1-0 by in form @BrackleyTownFC in their play-off semi final. Just didn’t pose enough of an attacking threat to break down the second best defence in the league. Brackley host Boston in Saturday’s promotion final pic.twitter.com/pWWhNeyybU

In the National League South, Worthing produced a 2-1 victory to knock Maidstone out and set up a meeting with Braintree in the playoff final.
Worthing’s Brad Dolaghan was bundled over in the box on 23 minutes, with Ollie Pearce scoring from the spot.
But right after that, Maidstone were level, Corne having two bites at the cherry, forcing Wright into two saves but Bentley was quick to put the ball past Wright on the third attempt.
It was in the 89th minute that Ollie Pearce caught the Stones on the counter attack seconds after Matt Rush saw his strike hit the crossbar, finishing in the bottom corner to make it 2-1 and send Worthing through.

And in the National League, it was Bromley who booked a place in the playoff final, where they will take on Solihull Moors.
It was on 30 minutes that Altrincham went ahead, Linney turning Conn-Clarke’s home from the six-yard box with Regan nearly making it 2-0 afterwards.
On the 50th minute, a Jude Arthurs corner was headed into the back of the net by Myles Weston to level the scoreline.
Five minutes after that, it was Idris Odutayo with the throw-in and Jude Arthurs with the header to make it 2-1, to Bromley.
And then Bromley went 3-1 up with an unbelievable curling effort right into the top corner from Myles Weston.
