Tottenham receive major boost in pursuit of Premier League star

Tottenham target Ryan Fraser has rejected a short-term extension with Bournemouth, which would have kept him with the Cherries for their nine remaining Premier League games.

Fraser’s current deal expires on 30 June, meaning the Scottish international, who is could eligible still play in Bournemouth’s next two Premier League fixtures, looks to have played his final match for the South Coast outfit and will therefore leave the Vitality Stadium at the end of the month.

The club confirmed the news on Twitter this morning.

We relayed a story last month from the Daily Star which said that Spurs were in pole position to sign Fraser – and he’ll now be available on a free transfer this summer.

Fraser caught the eye of the top-six sides last term when his eight Premier League goals and 14 assists – bettered only by former Chelsea ace Eden Hazard (15) – helped Eddie Howe’s men achieve a 14th-place finish and a fifth consecutive season in the topflight.

It’s unclear when the transfer window will take place, but 26-year-old is almost certain to be on the move – with Tottenham’s north London rivals Arsenal also keen on signing the winger.
