Rafael Leão will stay at Milan as the Rossoneri are not looking to sell him this summer, it’s reported.

Milan bought Leão from Lille in 2019 for €28m but the Portuguese striker has yet to explode in his time in Red & Black.

Between his body language and his rap album, the main criticism Rafael faces from the media and from the fans is that he seems bored and disinterested on the pitch. Alongside brilliant performances, Leão has also had some very disappointing outings and inconsistency defines his tenure so far.

Since the beginning of the summer there have been stories linking Leão with an exit, as Wolves, among others, have apparently showed interest. However, Milannews.it reports this evening (Saturday) that the Diavolo do not intend to put Leão on the market and sell him in this mercato.

The 22-year-old is not considered for sale and the management, as well as the coaching staff, strongly believe in the talent of the player. Leão has shown his limitations as a central forward but with Olivier Giroud coming he’ll have more of a chance to play on the wing, where he does better. With Jens Petter Hauge most likely leaving, Rafa will be competing for a sport with Ante Rebić.

Leão played 40 matches in Red and Black during the 2020/21 season, scoring seven goals and contributing six assists.
