Zenit vs Chelsea, Man Utd vs Young Boys

The Champions League group stages come to an end on Wednesday night, with plenty still on the line for a number of Europe’s biggest clubs.

Manchester United have already secured safe passage to the last 16 after winning Group F, while Chelsea have also progressed through from Group H.

However, to ensure they top Group H ahead of Juventus, Thomas Tuchel’s side must win in Russia against Zenit St Petersburg – knowing that anything less could see Massimiliano Allegri’s team nip in with a win over Malmo.

The pressure is also on Barcelona to get a result in Germany against Bayern Munich. If they don’t, there’s every chance Benfica could seal a place in the last 16 with victory over Dynamo Kyiv – a result that could force Xavi’s side into the Europa League rather than the knockout phase of the Champions League.

Follow along below for 90min‘s coverage as the action unfolds.

Chelsea‘s bid to win Group H could require victory in Russia against a Zenit side who will want to take confidence into their upcoming Europa League campaign.

The Blues have a number of injury problems to contend with, while Mateo Kovacic’s positive Covid-19 diagnosis has brought about another unwelcome distraction to Thomas Tuchel’s preparations.

In terms of team news, Chelsea have drafted Kepa into goal in place of the rested Edouard Mendy, and there’s also starts for Malang Sarr, Saul Niguez, Ross Barkley and Callum Hudson-Odoi – the latter is expected to deputise at left wing-back in the absence of Ben Chilwell and Marcos Alonso.

Up top, Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner are both fit enough to start after their respective recoveries from injury.

Confirmed Chelsea lineup: Kepa, Azpilicueta (c), Christensen, Sarr; James, Saul, Barkley, Hudson-Odoi; Mount, Werner, Lukaku

    Juventus vs Malmo (17:45)

Juventus are hoping to pounce on any slip-ups by Chelsea when they take on Malmo at the Allianz Stadium in a game they should win comfortably.

The Old Lady have been far from their best this season, and were comprehensively beaten 4-0 by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in their last Champions League outing. However, Juve won the reverse fixture, and have also taken maximum points from both of their games against Zenit and their other game against Malmo – meaning they could top Group H with a fifth win in six.

Confirmed Juventus lineup: Perin, De Winter, Bonucci (c), Rugani, Alex Sandro; Bernardeschi, Arthur, Bentancur, Rabiot; Dybala, Kean
