Xavi wants Dembele to stay at Barcelona

According to a recent report from Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona boss Xavi is working hard to convince Ousmane Dembele to stay at the club.

While his time at the Nou Camp may not have always been smooth sailing, Dembele is still one of the most exciting players in world football when he’s playing to his full potential. In order for him to reach that point on a consistent basis, some believe he needs to leave the Spanish giants during the January transfer window.

There are currently strong rumours floating around that suggest Newcastle United could be interested in putting forward an offer. It’s feasible, given the new finances they have after their takeover earlier this season, but that doesn’t mean he’d be willing to take a step down.

Xavi will do anything to ensure the success of his side and when it comes to Dembele, he clearly sees something in him.
