The Reds have been relentless in their pursuit of the top flight title having lost out last term by a solitary point.
City have struggled to reach the levels of recent years which has allowed Liverpool to win the league unopposed.
Their 2-1 defeat at Chelsea saw Pep Guardiola’s side finally surrender their title and Walker concedes it “hurt” to watch the Reds celebrate their success.
He tweeted : “Last night hurt but full respect and congratulations to @LFC on winning the @premierleague title. It’s a great feeling lifting that trophy and next year we will come back stronger and determined to win it back.”
City and Walkercan still win three trophies this term having already won the Carabao Cup.
Newcstle await them in the last eight of the FA Cup this weekend. Elsewhere, they retain strong ambitions of lifting the Champions League trophy.
