Watch: Chelsea-bound Timo Werner scores brace in final RB Leipzig game

Timo Werner is set to join Chelsea this summer and the striker marked his final appearance for RB Leipzig with two well-taken goals against Augsburg.

Werner won’t be featuring in their remaining Champions League fixtures ahead of his move to Stamford Bridge, but the 24-year-old signed off his Leipzig career in style.

The striker opened the scoring in the 28th minute by rounding the Augsburg goalkeeper and finishing coolly.

Augsburg equalised in the second-half but Werner restored Leipzig’s lead 10 minutes from time, latching on to Angelino’s cross-field pass before firing into the bottom corner.

That strike was Werner’s 95th and final goal for RB Leipzig, and he is now the club’s all-time highest goalscorer.
