    Tottenham defender could be loaned out this summer – report

    Ryan Sessegnon could seek a loan move away from Tottenham this summer, according to the Telegraph.

    The 20-year-old, who had been on Spurs’ radar for a number of years before he was eventually signed by Mauricio Pochettino in a £25m deal from Fulham last summer, hasn’t played a single minute since the Premier League restart and was left out of the squad for their last two games against Sheffield United and Everton.

    Sessegnon arrived in north London with a hamstring problem he’d suffered whilst playing for England U21s in the European Championships and had to wait almost three months to make his debut, which came in a Champions League game against Red Star Belgrade in early November – his only appearance before the Argentine was sacked less then two weeks later.

    The report suggests that Tottenham want to keep hold of Sessegnon, but know that he must be playing regularly in order to continue his development – and are therefore considering loaning the youngster out next season.

    Sessegnon has made 12 appearances in total for Spurs this season, but his recent opportunities have been limited under Mourinho – and his exclusion for the previous two matches at the expense of teenager Dennis Cirkin raised eyebrows over his near future.

    The Telegraph are reporting that the ex-Fulham star won’t be allowed to leave for a rival side – meaning a bottom-half Premier League side looks his most likely destination.
