Roma’s Mirko Antonucci has been sent back to Italy by the Portuguese side Vitoria de Setubal a TikTok disgrace.
Portuguese side Vitoria de Setubal has sent Mirko Antonucci back to Roma in disgrace following his latest social media shenanigans.
Neither Vitoria the club or its fans took kindly to the onetime Italian youth prospect dancing around and partying on social media after the team’s most recent defeat.
While the player took to Instagram to apologize and say he was giving up the online life it was too little too late.
The club followed up with a statement of their own telling Roma the deal was off and they could have Antonucci back.
Manager Julio Velázquez told the club’s official website:
“For what this symbol represents, for the history of the club and for respect for the fans, a player from Vitória FC must be 24 hours a day.”
“The situation is very simple: the club, management, technical team, and staff understood that the behavior of a player who was on loan was not what we wanted for a Vitória FC player.”
“Nor what the fans deserve 24 a day, inside and off the pitch.”
“It was communicated to his home club, Roma, that the loan ends now and that we no longer count on the player.”
“Above all out of respect for the fans and the history of the club and for all those who work on a daily basis to represent, with the greatest responsibility and dignity, this team “
