Plenty to talk about when it comes to Newcastle United, as always, including an interesting contribution from The Sunday Times.
The opinions continue to flow into The Mag as fans debate the various issues affecting our club.
The season set to end in only six days time, two games left and then a nice relaxing summer…
Contributions are sometimes too brief to make up into a full article and so we have gathered up a number of recent comments / contributions sent in, relating to issues at Newcastle United (if you would like to send anything in, long or short, then [email protected] is the place):
First time on here lads and lasses but I think Matt Ritchie being back in the team after he told the gaffer a few home truths and was banished, has made a massive difference, he’s a 100% grafter and says it like it is.
Thank god we didn’t listen to those idiots in January who wanted Steve Bruce sacked.
Our reputation as a club is so low that The Sunday Times has forgotten our Cup 6 wins!
I looked at the survey (ED: Asking Newcastle fans whether they would go to the Sheffield United match if they could buy a ticket – results HERE) that you are conducting as regards to attending this match.
I am a long-term season ticket holder and I will not be applying for a ticket but not for the reasons in your survey.
I will not be going because of the ridiculous conditions imposed by the club.
There is no medical or scientific basis for the long list of conditions.
If this continues into the next season I will be requesting a refund as what they are providing is not what I paid for.
I am sure there are many, many fans of the same persuasion.
I will never get the NHS app and I will never wear a face nappy watching the match.
Also. I suggest you do a survey as to whether the fans agree with the virtue signalling take the knee nonsense that is ongoing. Probably not I guess.
Keep up the good work.
How can the Saudis be turned down as owners when the Chelsea owner is not allowed in our country by the goverment.
Saudis are very fit and proper, running many billion pound operations, mostly blue chip companies.
Doesn’t suit the dodgy Dave owners, the hypocritical Premier League of kiss a.sing the fictional big six.
They are as bad as the owners, UEFA, FIFA because they couldn’t give a stuff for the principle, they just didn’t want their cash cow league to evaporate.
Friday night’s match had the air of a testimonial and I wondered if Pep’s praise for us was a legacy of his affection for Sir Bobby.
Willock adds a bit of urgency and – I think – will improve. His agent will be hawking him everywhere, so I think it’s unlikely we’ll get him.
I thought Joelinton was OK but then Joselu was the highest rated player in the whole of La Liga last week. Great movement for his goal last week and another one last night (Sunday) with a classy volley. He’s odds-on to be Alaves’ player of the season and he cost them £2.5m.
With the benefit of hindsight, a combination of Rondon / Wilson / Toney / Joselu would be a lot more potent than Wilson / Joe / Gayle / Carroll, and a lot cheaper.
I’m still bewildered at Gayle getting a new contract. If we give Carroll another year, we may as well bring back Steven Taylor to shore up the defence.
To be fair, we have been a lot better over recent weeks but I don’t know anyone who thinks we’ll be higher than bottom six next season. A lot of dead wood and an Ashley-size budget is not a good place to start.
