Steve Bruce angry at ‘disrespectful’ Newcastle manager talks

Steve Bruce has admitted Newcastle United’s stalled takeover is causing “uncertainty” at the club, adding that the manager exit talks has been disrespectful.

Steve Bruce is not pleased with the way Newcastle’s rumored take-over has caused unrest at the club.

The story surrounding the Magpies now for weeks is the supposed take-over led by  Saudi Arabian consortium.

Progress on the take-over has stalled recently after the intending buyers were said to have breached a ‘law of conduct’.

Steve Bruce will lead Newcastle against Sheffield United in their first game after the Premier League restart. The 59-year-old is not impressed with the distraction all the talk is causing for him and his players.

“Any distraction at boardroom level creates a little bit of uncertainty,” Bruce said as per the Daily Star.

“There’s something rumbling along but let’s not make it a distraction or an excuse. I can’t influence anything happening above me. I’ve had no conversations with anybody.”

Asides the proposed takeover, rumors have also been in full swing Bruce could be replaced with Mauricio Pochettino or Rafa Benitez if it all goes to plan.

The Newcastle boss has branded such talks as completely disrespectful.

“Some of it has been disrespectful,”

“But I’ve been in the job long enough to know the one thing you need more than anything is a thick skin and try and ride the storm.”

“It’s never easy and it becomes unsettling – not for myself but for other people who are close to me like my staff.”

“With the takeover, I think everyone is a bit bored with it. We’ve heard it all before and it seems to drag on. But the one thing I can’t do is let it be an excuse.” Bruce added.

“We’ve just got to focus on what we are paid to do, make sure we’ve prepared the players as best we can and win football matches.”

Newcastle lie 13th on the Premier League standings and are safe from the relegation zone as it stands.

For Steve Bruce, most of his future at the club would depend on what happens with the Magpie’s supposed take-over,
