Harry Kane believes Tottenham “can do something special” in 2020-21 after he set a Premier League record in Spurs’ 1-0 win over Burnley.
Kane teed up the winner at Turf Moor on Monday, flicking on for Tottenham team-mate Son Heung-min to score in the 76th minute.
It is the ninth league goal the Tottenham pair have combined for this season, while it also brings up Kane’s eighth assist of the campaign.
Kane has also scored five times, meaning he has been directly involved in 13 goals this season – the most ever recorded by a player in his team’s first six Premier League games of a campaign.
With Spurs up to fifth, two points behind top-two sides Everton and Liverpool, Kane feels Jose Mourinho’s squad are well placed to push for silverware this term.
“I think we are at a stage where we have been so close for so many years, a lot of us have been together for four or five years,” Kane told Sky Sports.
“The additions this year have been great and we are all getting more experienced. We know with the team we have got and the players we have got we can do something special.

“It’s making sure when you come to places like this you are fighting for every point and result. To bounce back and grind these results out, these are the results that count at the end of the season.
“It’s still early on. We need to take each game as it comes. I know it’s a cliche. We still have a lot to learn and build on but I think nights like this will give us a lot of confidence.”
Kane and Son need to combine for only one more league goal to set a new club record for a single campaign.
Asked what the secret is to his and Son’s success, England captain Kane told BBC Sport: “I think having more understanding when I’m dropping deep for him to run in behind. It is just confidence as well. When you are playing well you just want the next games to come.
“Even today it was not an amazing assist but it fell well for Sonny and 1-0 away to Burnley is a fantastic result.”
It was by no means a vintage performance from Spurs, with Mourinho’s Tottenham finishing the game with nine attempts – four fewer than Burnley, who sit 18th in the table.
