    Simeone confident Joao Felix will only get better

    Diego Simeone is confident that Joao Felix will improve and develop into the player Atletico Madrid has always expected he would be.

    Portuguese forward Joao Felix arrived at the Wanda Metropolitano with a huge price tag and even bigger expectations in the summer of 2019.

    It’s safe to say that the youngster’s first season was a little underwhelming, to say the least.

    However, his manager Diego Simeone is convinced the player will only get better about prove to be a great signing.

    In an interview reported by Goal, he said:

    “He is a different player, but we have always valued his talent as we have seen him in training and matches.”

    “Surely, when he grows older and can spend more time in situations that are decisive for the team and he will evolve as a player.”

    “He has all the important attributes that can make or break a game, and with his growth in matches he will develop even more as a footballer.”

    The 20-year-old Portuguese has been heralded as the heir apparent to his compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo. What do you think?
