Shawn Porter thinks Ryan Garcia’s social media behavior is all a ploy to trap Devin Haney

The highly anticipated fight between Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia is now just a week away. The two are set to square off on April 20 in Brooklyn, New York.

Ryan Garcia’s arrogant remarks aimed at Devin Haney ahead of WBC super lightweight title boutTwitter

There were doubts about whether Garcia would come through and deliver on fight night, due to his concerning and sometimes frightening social media posts that had many questioning his mental health. But one former champion believes it’s all a ploy.

Will we get a “locked and loaded” Ryan Garcia on April 20?

While appearing on ProBoxTV’s “Deep Waters”, Shawn Porter spoke about Garcia’s behavior and gave an interesting take.

I got to the point where I said this is too much. This doesn’t make sense… because that’s what he wants. I think he wants everyone counting him out. I’ve got a feeling that Ryan Garcia is going to come to the ring locked and loaded.

Porter believes Garcia’s social media antics are just a ruse to get Haney to “let down his guard” before the fight begins. And he believes that Garcia will perform as well as he ever has on fight night.

Garcia’s social media barrages have toned down since the first couple of days after the fight hype really started, although he recently claimed he’s dating Kylie Jenner.
