Schalke 04 are interested in signing Bayern Munich goalkeeper Sven Ulreich with the intention of sending Markus Schubert on loan next season, according to Sport Bild.

Ulreich would be open to leaving Bayern Munich, telling Sport1: “Of course I don’t want to be a number three next season. I will try to find a new club. If no suitable opportunity arises, it’s possible that I will fulfil my contract in Munich.”

Ralf Fährmann is expected to return to Schalke next season following his loan spell with SK Brann, providing competition for the No. 1 sport at the Royal Blues.
