Saints Foundation Gets Funding Boost By National Lottery

Saints Foundation is delighted to announce it will receive funding from the government’s Coronavirus Community Support Fund distributed by the National Lottery Charitable Fund, which will support our Senior Saints Project’s Covid-19 response.

The funding, which started in September, will allow the charity of Southampton Football Club to keep supporting isolated older adults across Southampton.

Since March, Saints Foundation has been producing a variety of resources to support this group and encourage them to remain active at home including online exercise videos, exercise at home booklets and calls to participants, with more to come thanks to support from partners like NLCF.

Speaking about this positive news for the charity, Head of Saints Foundation, Greg Baker, said: “We are proud to be partnering up with such a prestigious organisation like the National Lottery.

“It has been a challenging time for us and our participants, so this funding will allow us to continue to support those older adults who need us, so we can make sure they remain active and independent.”

Not only will Saints Foundation make more video content for their participants to follow from home, they will continue to offer telephone support – an ever-present assistance for those isolating over the last six months – as well booklets and exercise equipment that will keep those who need it active and engaged.

Saints Foundation are also hoping, once restrictions allow, to return to physical face to face sessions throughout the city, giving older adults up to 60 minutes of exercise to boost both their physical and mental wellbeing.
