Ronaldo to miss Juventus Coppa Italia quarter-final clash

Come Wednesday, the Bianconeri will be determined to move one step closer to getting their hands on a 14th domestic crown.

Cristiano Ronaldo will play no part in Juventus’ upcoming Coppa Italia quarter-final clash, according to La Repubblica via TuttoJuve.

Ronaldo, along with a number of his teammates, is set to be afforded some rest when Juventus take on Serie B side SPAL on Wednesday evening.

Goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, center-backs Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini, and midfielder Weston McKennie are likely to be the other absentees with Andrea Pirlo expected to make tweaks in his starting XI.

If the Old Lady go through to the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia, they will enter a period of hectic schedule – six matches in the next 19 days.

Pirlo, as a result, has decided to rest some of his key players for the match against SPAL, who Juventus beat in both the home and away round last season in Serie A.
