Real Madrid still ‘very keen’ on Arsenal-linked Camavinga

An update on the clubs interested in Rennes standout Edouard Camavinga has been forthcoming from the Spanish press recently.

    Camavinga impressing

Camavinga is one of the hottest young prospects in world football at the moment.

The Frenchman will not turn 19 until November, but is already an absolutely integral part of Rennes’ side.

Camavinga featured 25 times in Ligue 1 last term, playing a key role in his side securing a Champions League berth.

And the campaign to date has seen the midfielder notch a further 33 league appearances for Rennes.

    Camavinga’s agent speaks out

His impressive form at such a young age has unsurprisingly seen some top clubs tipped to move for the midfielder, including both Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.

More recent reports stemming from France, however, have added Arsenal to the mix for the teenager.

The Gunners could certainly do with some fresh legs in midfield and signing Camavinga is seemingly not that out of the question for an Arsenal side who were only recently able to lure Thomas Partey away from Atletico Madrid.

However, Arsenal do seemingly look set to face stiff competition from Los Blancos if they indeed want to fight for the Frenchman’s signature.

And, according to Spanish outlet Marca, despite it looking like the economic effects of the pandemic had put the brakes on Real Madrid’s interest in Camavinga, the capital outfit are still very keen on the Rennes midfielder.

It is added that after their Champions League exit to Chelsea Madrid have decided that their midfield needs to be more dynamic and requires an injection of power and strength, with Camavinga seemingly fitting that profile.

Marca also mention potential interest from both Arsenal and Bayern Munich.
