RB Leipzig vs PSG 0-3: Parisians reach the Champions League final

PSG reached the final of the UEFA Champions League for the first time after they trashed RB Leipzig 0-3. Marquinhos, Di Maria and Bernat all hit the net.

In 2011 when the Qatari owners bought PSG there ambition was to win the Champions League. Last night they took a big step toward that ambition as now they are in the final of the Champions League where they will face the winner between Lyon vs Bayern Munich.

Thomas Tuchel’s side showed good maturity in the game despite Leipzig’s constant pressure. Neymar was the star of the show and he had help from the likes of Di Maria and Mbappe as well. It was a good learning experience for Julian Naglesmanm and his men who can take pride in the fact that they have managed to reach semi-finals of the Champions League.

    1st Half

The Germans looked a little nervous compared to the French. Neymar had a great chance early in the game but couldn’t finish. While Mbappe thought he has scored when Neymar pressed Péter Gulácsi and his clearance hit straight to Neymar and Mbappe scored on the rebound. However, it was a handball from the Brazilian and goal was disallowed.

The Parisians opened the scoring when a Di Maria’s cross from a free-kick was met by the head of Marquinhos. After that goal, PSG played in a very calm way while Leipzig pressed. The Ligue 1 giants doubled their lead when the Germans tried to play from the back but they were caught. Neymar flicked the ball for Di Maria to make it 2-0 and further dent RB Leipzig’s hope of a comeback.

    2nd half

Despite being down by two goals the Bundesliga side were not giving up as they looked to attack PSG. However, the Ligue 1 side were awarded a controversial goal. Neymar was fouled and the ref blew his whistle as well. Di Maria wasted no time and he swung in a cross which was met by Bernat. RB Leipzig players were protesting but after a VAR check, the goal was allowed. Leipzig hardly managed to open up PSG after that except for some long-range efforts. While PSG were sitting back and they would hit the Germans on counter-attacks.

RB Leipzig vs PSG 0-3 Post Match

Man of match Di Maria said that his team wants to create history by winning the final. While Mbappe said that he is getting similar vibes as that of 2018 World cup. However, PSG fans are worried that Neymar might miss the game as he removed his shirt violating health and safety recommendations.

Despite the loss, RB Leipzig manager Julian Naglesmanm was happy with his team’s performance. He believed that his team responded well to adversity and circumstances. The Germans were the second-best team but that did not stop them from trying to play and well and score against PSG. The German also congratulated the Parisians for reaching the final.
