Premier League ace wanted by Spurs will cost £50m this summer – report

Tottenham will have to pay £50 million if they are to prise Nick Pope away from Burnley this summer, according to LancsLive.

Earlier this week, the Daily Mail reported that Spurs are looking at Pope at a potential replacement for Hugo Lloris.

The Tottenham captain hasn’t quite been himself of late, and there is also said to be interest in him from his former manager Mauricio Pochettino at Paris Saint-Germain.

That means Spurs could need a replacement before the start of next season, and the Mail thinks Pope is high on their list.

However, LancsLive claims the Londoners will have to part ways with a huge fee if they are to lure the England international away from Turf Moor.

It will apparently take an incredible £50 million for Burnley to sell Pope, who has been one of the standout goalkeepers in the Premier League in recent years.

The worry is that Pope isn’t great with his feet, which suits Jose Mourinho’s style but may not be ideal if Tottenham hire a new manager with a more progressive approach in the future.

With that and Burnley’s valuation in mind, Spurs might be better off taking their time and looking for a younger and more suitable long-term replacement for Lloris.
