Playing in the EPL is more physical, fast and intense than La Liga – Mohammed Salisu

Ghanaian international, Mohammed Salisu has noted that the English Premier League is tougher than the Spanish La Liga.

The defender joined Southampton two summers ago in a deal that saw him move from Spanish outfit Real Valladolid.

Comparing playing in the two leagues, Mohammed Salisu says the English Premier League is tougher.

“It [La Liga] is a different league as compared to the Premier League. Here it’s more physical, fast, the intensity is high compared to La Liga. I think here is more difficult,” the centre-back has said in a recent interview.

Salisu added, “It’s good to play with the best players, it’s good to mark them to know how you are – your level.”

This season, Mohammed Salisu has been a key player for Southampton and has earned praise from not only teammates but his manager as well.

He has played in 12 matches and will be expected to start for the Saints on Saturday when the team takes on Liverpool.
