Bayern Munich ruthless on the night as they put six past Eintracht Frankfurt, Jamal Musiala GGFN’s MOTM with a brace, closely followed Sadio Mané, who caused Eintracht Frankfurt problems on his Bundesliga debut. Plenty to work on for SGE.
Eintracht Frankfurt – 1 (Kolo Muani)
Kevin Trapp, 4 – In Hansi Flick’s latest Germany squad, Trapp was unsighted for Joshua Kimmich’s opening goal on the night. Didn’t have much to do, apart from picking the ball out of his next six times.
Almamy Touré, 4 – A night to forget for the Frenchman.
Tuta, 5 – Won his aerial duels but a poor game from the Brazilian.
Evan Ndicka, 4 – The Frenchman tried his best but had no help whatsoever from Filip Kostić. Constantly in trouble along the left-side of Eintracht Frankfurt’s defence.
Ansgar Knauff, 5 – Posed the most threat going forward and showcased his explosive pace on occasion, but lost the ball far too often.
Djibril Sow, 5 – Struggled to impose himself on the game.
Sebastian Rode, 4 – Caught on the ball for Sadio Mané’s goal and was pressured in midfield. Difficult evening for the former Bayern Munich midfielder.
Filip Kostić, 3 – Wayward crossing and failed to track back on several occasions. Yellow-carded for dissent, kicking the ball away. Head already at Juventus?
Jesper Lindstrøm, 4 – Had an excellent opportunity to get a goal back for Eintracht Frankfurt at 2-0 down, weaving through the Bayern Munich defence but the Dane dragged his shot wide. Sadio Mané scored a third for Bayern minutes later.
Mario Götze, 6 – A difficult debut for the summer arrival. Made one key pass but like the Eintracht attack, rarely saw the ball.
Rafael Borré, 5 – Difficult evening for the Colombian. Rarely saw the ball and had no support from midfield.

Bayern Munich – 6 (Joshua Kimmich, Benjamin Pavard, Sadio Mané, Jamal Musiala (2), Serge Gnabry
Manuel Neuer, 6 – Was rarely called upon but patrolled his box and read the danger with Bayern’s high line with relative easy. However, his mistake resulted in Bayern throwing a clean sheet away.
Benjamin Pavard, 7 – Started ahead of Noussair Mazraoui and had a lot of joy down Bayern’s right due to Thomas Müller moving infield. Scored Bayern’s second of the evening.
Dayot Upamecano, 6 – Like his defensive partner, rarely caused into action. Did showcase good pace.
Lucas Hernandez, 6 – Untested, but did nothing of note. Strong performance.
Alphonso Davies, 7 – Perhaps lacked the end ball, but his recovery pace allowed Bayern to play a much higher defensive line. Took the ball from his own area to Eintracht’s, as we’ve seen so often.
Joshua Kimmich, 9 – Opened the scoring with a genius free-kick after five minutes – when many expected a cross, the German sneaked the ball in at Trapp’s near post. Kimmich then assisted Pavard and worked well alongside Marcel Sabitzer – played his role in Mané’s goal, pressuring Sebastian Rode before playing the ball over the top to Serge Gnabry, who found his strike partner.
Marcel Sabitzer, 7 – For someone that was close to leaving Bayern Munich this summer, that performance will do the Austrian midfielder the world of good. Excellent alongside Kimmich in the absence of Leon Goretzka. Did his job.
Jamal Musiala, 10 – A masterclass from the 19-year-old. Five shots, four on target and two key passes. Had the most touches of the ball of any attacking player and scored a brace. Incredible player.
Thomas Müller, 8 – Perhaps should have been on the scoresheet but fluffed his chance, certainly an early contender for miss of the season. Other than that, he was excellent. Created two goals and had a good understanding with Jamal Musiala, the duo caused Eintracht a headache.
Serge Gnabry, 9 – A catalyst for a new contract was a central role and Gnabry got that tonight. The German scored and assisted his strike partner. Had three key passes and three shots.
Sadio Mané, 9 – Unplayable at times tonight, you don’t get many better debuts than that. Hurried Eintracht Frankfurt’s defence and showcased his physicality. Scored on his Bundesliga debut, netting Bayern’s third inside 30 minutes.
