Andrea Pirlo admits it is ‘an enormous pleasure’ for himself and Juventus to have such a magnificent player in Cristiano Ronaldo with them.
Ronaldo has continued where he left off last season by smashing home the goals for Juventus. He’s scored three times already in Pirlo’s first two games to gift the head coach an unbeaten start to his reign.
The Portuguese superstar’s quest to go where no man has gone before shows no signs of ending. Even at 35, and despite having won every top club and individual honor imaginable, Cristiano is still as hungry for success as the day when he first started his career.
Now Pirlo, who recently revealed Ronaldo is the first to arrive at training and the last to go home in Turin, has disclosed what a blessing it is to have the five-time Ballon d’Or winner by his side.
(Note: Pirlo’s comments on Ronaldo begin at 3:10 minutes on the video below.)
“I’m happy to have this icon of world football, to see him every day, to have him at my disposal, to see him train, to see him play,” Pirlo told UEFA.
“It’s an enormous pleasure for me and for the whole team. He’s someone who works the same now at 35 as he did as a young lad, with the same passion to play football every day.
“He’s an example for all of us.”
Ronaldo will report back to action for Juventus on Saturday for a trip to Crotone in the Serie A.
Although Pirlo may opt to rest his star man for the Champions League game against Dynamo Kyiv three days later.
