NWSL clubs announced their rosters today ahead of the Challenge Cup kicking off Saturday, June 27 in Utah on CBS and CBS All Access. For more on how to watch every game, including NC Courage vs. Portland Thorns and Chicago Red Stars vs. Washington Spirit, click here.

The tournament format will include eight teams split into two groups after the Orlando Pride, one of the nine NWSL teams, withdrew from competition due to a recent outbreak of positive COVID-19 cases. That means we won’t see Marta, Emily Sonnett, Ali Krieger and Ashlyn Harris. Alex Morgan was not expected to play after the birth of her child on May 7.

While some notable players are out from varying rosters, there are number a national team players listed with their respective clubs. United States national team players Rose Lavelle and Jessica McDonald were announced with Washington Spirit and North Carolina Courage, respectively. Internationals Rachel Daly (England) and Vero Boquete (Spain) were listed with Houston Dash and Utah Royals FC.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all players were given the option of abstaining from participation, with no impact on their contract status or benefits. Christen Press of the Utah Royals FC and Megan Rapinoe of OL Reign are some of the notable USWNT players who have opted out.
