Tennis Sits 27th on Forbes’ rich-list
Rafael Nadal has once again become the highest-paid Spanish sportsperson during 2019, earning upwards of 40 million dollars (36 million euros).
The tennis star, who last year won two Grand Slams – Roland Garros and the US Open – made 14 million dollars (12.6 million euros) in prize money.
The other 26 million dollars (23.4 million euros) come from advertising contracts with different brands such as Nike, Babolat, Richard Mille, Kia, Telefonica and MAPFRE.
According to Forbes, Nadal is the third best-paid tennis player in the world, only behind Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic in second.
The 19-time Grand Slam champion has completed his second week of training in his Manacor academy and is stepping up the pace after two months of confinement.
The Mallorcan, like the rest of the circuit, is waiting for the final decision on the North American hard court tour, with the ATP set to make a decision early next week.
