MotoGP: Marc Marquez given all clear to return in Portimao

Six-time MotoGP champion Marc Marquez has been given the all clear by doctors to return to competing after breaking his right arm.

Marquez is set to mark his comeback next weekend in the Portugal Grand Prix at the Portimao circuit between April 16 and 18.

His team, Repsol-Honda, confirmed that after the latest medical check on the rider in the Ruber International Clinic, doctors are ‘pleased with the bone consolidation process’ in his right arm and say he ‘can return to competition, assuming the reasonable risk implicit in his sporting activity’.

MotoGP doctors will decide this Thursday if he is fit to join up with his Honda Repsol team on Friday for training ahead of the Portugal GP.
