Tommaso Pobega had an impressive season at Pordenone and at the moment it looks like he’ll be part of the Milan squad for next year.

Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara are building the 2020-21 Milan, which will aim once again for a top four finish and a return to the Champions League.

It’s clear reinforcements are needed and depth is a must as the Diavolo will compete in three competitions next year.

As reported by’s Antonio Vitiello, throughout the season Milan followed Tommaso Pobega with great attention. The Rossoneri Youth Sector product spent the last season on loan at Pordenone Calcio in Serie B, where he had a great campaign playing as a central midfielder.

Vitiello claims that Milan ‘have great respect’ for Pobega, 21, and they’d like to try him out during the ‘pre-season’, which starts on August 24. A series of evaluations will be made based on the mercato, but the general ideal of Milan right now is to keep Pobega in the team. There is also desire to extend his contract which expires in 2022 and negotiations are underway for a renewal until 2025.

Pobega would be a homegrown, low-cost alternative to Franck Kessié and Ismaël Bennacer in the center of the part. Pioli claimed recently that Milan will need to sign central midfielders this summer.
