AC Milan will not make any decision regarding the future of Zlatan Ibrahimovic before the end of this season, informs Frederic Massara.
AC Milan turned to Zlatan Ibrahimovic as they looked for someone who could simultaneously be a strong leading presence in the squad and galvanize the attack.
Ibrahimovic signed a six-month deal and returned for his second spell at San Siro in January.
With them having gotten closer to attaining a European spot, it is evident that the Rossoneri have benefited from the veteran forward’s presence in the team.
However, uncertainty still surrounds whether he will extend his stay at the club beyond this season.
Director of football Frederic Massara is convinced of the 38-year old’s abilities but insists that the questions concerning his future will be answered only after this season concludes.
“Ibrahimovic is a champion. The team [has] improved a great deal with his arrival,” he told Sky Sport Italia.
“But, come the end of the season, we need to sit down and discuss the situation, including his own state of mind.
“He wanted to help Milan during a difficult time for the club. It goes without saying that any team is improved by having Ibrahimovic in it as he is a phenomenal player.”
