    What’s the word?

According to the Daily Mail, United are considering a move for Benjamin Sesko of RB Salzburg.

They are thought to be one of several Premier League clubs interested, as scouts were said to have been watching him again on Saturday.

The Austrian outfit value the forward at £55m, however recently the Twitter admin of the club jokingly claimed it would take “300 million plus Bruno” to pry Sesko from Salzburg.

    He can replace Ronaldo

Erik ten Hag may have already added to his squad in certain problem positions, but with Cristiano Ronaldo’s recent strike from pre-season duty, perhaps a striker has become a new position of importance for United.

Should the Portuguese icon choose to leave, the Red Devils will have the unforgiving task of replacing his 18 league goals; an impressive return given United’s terrible season.

Signing Sesko would not bridge this gap instantly, but it would certainly be a wonderful investment for the future.

Can Benjamin Sesko really replace Cristiano Ronaldo?

    Yes!

    Yes!

Standing at a hulking 6 foot 4, Ronaldo’s physical presence would definitely not be missed.

Last season, the Austria international finished the season with five goals and three assists as a 19-year-old. However, this season he has started the fastest out of the blocks.

He bagged in their opening league game of the season, and his average SofaScore rating of 7.35 ranks him first amongst his teammates. He appears to improve game upon game, with his ceiling seemingly growing as the seasons’ progress.

His play style has earned him complimentary comparisons to one particular striker who has also just made his move to the Premier League – Erling Haaland.

The forward has also been lauded as a “generational talent” by journalist Ryan Taylor, and this could prove a smart investment by Ten Hag despite the astronomical price tag.

Although he would not instantly upgrade United, if Ronaldo was to leave, he could certainly fill the gap for now earning experience at a level much higher than his current one.

In time, he would surely fill that hole for years to come.

AND, in other news: Man United have “genuine” interest in signing £25m “phenomenon”, forget about de Jong.
