The trio weren’t the only Reds revelling in the win on social media, and both Hannah Blundell and Aoife Mannion were among those who used Twitter to share their thoughts throughout the landmark fixture.
When Russo and Toone joined the fray in the second half, Mannion posted on Twitter, stating: “And just like that, Lessi and Tooney step out onto the pitch. Wow, come on girls!!!!! Run them ragged!!!!”
At full-time, the United Women defender posted: “IT CAME HOME.”
Blundell shared these sentiments, sharing a message of her own. She said: “FOOTBALL HAS FINALLY COME HOME!!!”
Earps, Russo and Toone have no doubt had a huge impact on future generations of footballers with their success on Sunday, and they can be very proud of what they have achieved. Well done Reds!
