Man City set for huge Pedro Perro mistake

    NFL Betting

Manchester City could be set to make a huge mistake with Pedro Porro, with the Spain international potentially set to be included in a deal for Sporting Lisbon left-back Nuno Mendes this summer.

According to A Bola (via The Sun), City are now in advanced talks to sign the 18-year-old left-back and could include 21-year-old Porro in a potential deal, with the Spanish right-back having spent the season on loan with the Liga NOS side.

It is no surprise that Mendes is attracting interest from the Citizens, as despite his tender age, he has been a regular for Ruben Amorim’s side this season, making 29 appearances in the Portuguese top-flight and averaging a superb 7.24 rating for his performances from WhoScored.

Both Mendes and Porro have been superb for the Green and Whites this season and helped them win their first league title since 2002, so whilst they will not be keen to see the young left-back leave, including Porro in a potential deal for him would definitely sweeten the deal.

Would you let Porro go to get Mendes?

    No

City signed the defender from Girona in 2019 for £11m, but he is yet to make an appearance for the Citizens, spending the last two seasons out on loan, and now it seems as if he could depart the Etihad Stadium without playing a single game.

However, his performances this season suggest that he could definitely do a job in Guardiola’s side in the future, and could perhaps be the man to step up when Kyle Walker departs the club.

In 30 Liga NOS appearances, Porro has contributed three goals and three assists, averaging an excellent 7.17 rating for his performances from WhoScored, which emphasises that he has been a key factor in their title-winning season.

Whilst City have more issues at left-back than they do at right-back, it would be a mistake to sell Porro without ever giving him a first-team opportunity, as he clearly has a lot of potential.

Therefore, City sporting director Txiki Begiristain should not include Porro in any potential deal for Mendes, even if it does persuade the Portuguese champions to sell for less this summer.

And, in other news… Pep may already have the heir to £38m City beast in “incredible” £46k-p/w gem
