Liverpool to reward Alisson Becker with new contract this summer

Alisson keeps Liverpool’s Champions League hopes alive

Liverpool would of course face off with West Brom over the weekend.

In order to keep themselves in the hunt for a top-four finish, Liverpool needed to pick up all three points vs the Championship-bound Baggies.

That would be easier said than done though, with Hal Robson-Kanu actually putting West Brom 1-0 up after 15 minutes.

Mohamed Salah did level things up after 33 minutes, but the Reds were struggling to find that all-important winner.

That was until second-half injury-time when Alisson surged up the field for a corner and headed home the winner:

That goal would keep Liverpool within touching distance of the top-four.

And, after Leicester City lost to Chelsea on Tuesday, the Merseysiders can knock the Foxes out of the top-four with a victory over Burnley on Wednesday evening.

Now, Alisson looks set to be rewarded with a new Liverpool contract following his latest contribution for the Reds.

The Brazilian is currently tied down at Anfield until 2024. However, the Telegraph are reporting that Alisson is to be rewarded with a new contract this summer, with talks pencilled in before the start of next season.

The Telegraph add that Fabinho is also expected to pen fresh terms over the coming months:
