‘He’s back’: Leicester star singled out for special praise after Legia triumph

Viewers of Leicester City’s meeting with Legia Warsaw have, in the game’s aftermath, singled one member of Brendan Rodgers’ squad out for special praise.

    Daka amongst the goals

The Foxes were of course back in action a short time ago.

After slipping to another concerning Premier League defeat at the weekend, Rodgers and co. this evening turned their attentions towards matters on the continent, in a Europa League showdown with the aforementioned Legia.

And, when all was said and done, much to the relief of the club’s increasingly frustrated fanbase, Leicester got things firmly back on track.

An explosive opening to proceedings, during which the hosts found the net on a trio of occasions inside 35 minutes, ultimately saw Leicester emerge on the right side of a 3-1 scoreline.

Patson Daka was first on target, before James Maddison’s effort before the half-hour mark was added to by Wilfred Ndidi to ensure that Leicester climbed back to the summit of the Group C table.

    Maddison praised

In turn, on the back of the action coming to a close at the King Power Stadium, it should come as little surprise to hear of a whole host of Leicester’s stars coming in for praise.

The likes of Harvey Barnes and Wilfred Ndidi impressed throughout proceedings on Thursday, amid a much-improved team performance.

As alluded to above, though, one member of Rodgers’ ranks in particular has been singled out for more widespread praise than any other.

The player in question? James Maddison.

On the back of a hit-and-miss opening to the campaign, midfield conductor Maddison shone across the 90 minutes versus Legia, rewarded for his efforts with a goal and an assist.

As a result, some of a Foxes persuasion have even gone as far as to suggest that the 25-year-old is ‘back’ to his brilliant best, with a roundup of the Twitter highlights showcased below:
