Oscar Rodriguez came up with something special to salvage a point for Leganes against Real Mallorca on Friday.
It was the Real Madrid loanee’s fourth freekick goal this season and the furthest one out yet.
Only Lionel Messi has scored as many as Oscar‘s four freekick goals this campaign in LaLiga Santander.
Dani Parejo and David Timor are also near the top of the standings but have two each so far.
“You have to shoot in order to score goals,” Oscar said after the game at Son Moix.
Oscar is usually at the heart of everything good at Leganes as they fight for LaLiga Santander survival.
“We’re all trying and we’re going to keep fighting until it’s mathematically impossible,” the 21-year-old explained.
“We do lots of things well, but we haven’t had much luck and we find it difficult to score.
“We’re not going to stop fighting to go higher [in the table].
“My goal arrived late. We tried to push until the end and get the win, but there wasn’t enough time to come back.”
