Chelsea host Luton Town in the 4th round of the FA Cup this Sunday lunchtime. After defeating Morecambe 4-0 last time out in the competition, the Blues will be hoping for a similar performance against the visiting Championship side.
Team News
Frank Lampard has confirmed that Olivier Giroud is fit to play while N’Golo Kante is still sidelined with a hamstring injury. The French midfielder is currently working outside on his own with the physios and Lampard hopes to have him back soon (chelseafc.com). Fikayo Tomori has left to join AC Milan on loan for the remainder of the season, leaving Chelsea with four senior center backs. Other than that, the rest of the squad is fully fit, leaving Lampard with decisions to make on his starting XI.
Predicted XI:
After performing well against Morecambe in the 3rd round of the FA Cup, Kepa Arrizabalaga is likely to keep his place in the net.
Similar to Kepa, both Cesar Azpilicueta and Emerson played well in the last round, earning the fullbacks a place in the starting XI. In central defence, Kurt Zouma is likely to make his return, partnering Andreas Christensen in the process.
In midfield, Billy Gilmour has done more than enough to earn a place in the starting XI. Sticking with the 4-3-3 formation, he will likely play the holding midfield role. While Kai Havertz and Mateo Kovacic occupy the two attacking 8 positions.
Switching to the attack, Hakim Ziyech is likely to return on the right-wing, with Callum Hudson-Odoi moving to the left-wing. Olivier Giroud will be taking his place up top after being cleared for the cup match.
