LaLiga: Atletico Madrid open up three-point gap to Real Madrid

Atletico Madrid took the upper hand once more in the title race as both they and Real Madrid were in action in LaLiga Santander on Sunday.

Diego Simeone‘s side extended their lead over their city rivals to four points with a 5-0 win over Eibar before Los Blancos could only draw 0-0 with Getafe.

The gap at the top, then, is now three points. Barcelona, who played in the Copa del Rey final on Saturday, are five back from Atletico with a game in hand.

Sevilla‘s 2-1 win over Real Sociedad puts them just one point behind Barcelona and surely worth mentioning in the title conversation.

Matchday 35 still looks decisive in terms of where the trophy will head, with the top four all facing each other.
