James Maddison hastily deletes video of him trying to kiss a girl in Ibiza

James Maddison has gone viral as he hastily deletes a cringe video of him trying to kiss a girl out in Ibiza, where he is currently partying.

The footage shows the Leicester City player looking bleary-eyed as he left a woman unimpressed before she then pushes him away as he made an attempt to lock lips.

He managed to lean in a few times and kisses his female companion several times on the cheek, she smiled a few times, but on a viewer’s point of view, it couldn’t get anymore awkward.

She is heard to say ‘This isn’t going on your Instagram stories’ as he moves away.

Social media users quickly got the video before it was taken off his account, and by Tuesday morning, it went viral, with the player’s name at the top of the UK Twitter trends list.

He uploaded the clip to his Instagram stories, for his 816,000 followers to check out, but then James Maddison hastily deletes the video.

He was spotted drinking beer with fellow Premier League stars Dele Alli and Jack Grealish at an Ibiza bar over the weekend.

Maddison, 23, missed the end of the Premier League season, in which they failed to get a Champions League place on the final day, to undergo surgery on a persistent tendon issue.

He was seen on the Spanish island sporting a big bandage placed on his hip.

He watched from the bench as the Foxes were beaten 2-0 to Manchester United on the final day of the campaign, consigning them to the Europa League next season.

Maddison scored a total of nine goals and contributed three assists during Leicester’s season but only played three matches post-restart.

His good form at the start of the season earned Maddison a first England call-up and he made his debut in the Euro 2020 qualifier against Montenegro in November.

He has been linked with a move to Manchester United with Marcus Rashford being ask to try and lure him away from Leicester.

Manchester Evening News claim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer asked Rashford along with Jesse Lingard to try to entice Maddison to Old Trafford when they were on England duty together, before Solskjaer chose to pursue Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish instead, even then they still haven’t got a deal over the line.

The midfielder James Maddison has since agreed a new four-year contract, tying him to the Foxes until 2024.

BBC Sport understands the deal is worth more than £110,000 a week and should be confirmed in the coming days.

James Maddison sent an emotional message to the Leicester fans after discovering he would be out injury.

He said: “Been such a frustrating time of late having to watch the lads from the stands.

“But unfortunately I’ll be out for the short period of the season that is left.

“Gutted I won’t have any part to play in these last 2 hugely important games but that’s football sometimes.”

His side ended up losing 3-0 away to Tottenham, before losing 2-0 at home to Manchester United.
