Two years on from their first meeting, Iwan Thomas caught up with SaintsAbility participant, Ben Tall, to see how the young footballer has progressed with Saints Foundation.
Back in 2018, the Saints Foundation ambassador met the then eight-year-old at Staplewood Campus to see how the Foundation had helped, visually impaired, Ben come out of his shell through the power of football.
Mike Pink, Saints Foundation’s SaintsAbility Project Officer commented:
“”Ben has come on leaps and bounds in the last two years. He is much more confident, his footballing abilities are improving, and he is, as always, a really valued member of our team, especially at the Para Football League.
“During the lockdown, he has engaged with our virtual quizzes and even been a quiz master for some of the rounds – a real testament to his confidence.”
Now he’s back on the pitch, we are excited to see how he progresses
Now, Iwan was reunited with him at Oasis Academy Lord’s Hill, where the charity have been holding SaintsAbility sessions as part of their Community Hub project in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
After Ben’s session the pair sat down to have a chat about how the last two years have been for the youngster.
