Playing for Inter Milan is fascinating for Diego Godin who insists he does not intend to part ways with the club anytime soon.
Inter Milan defender Diego Godin has had a hard time so far convincing manager Antonio Conte of his abilities.
Godin committed to a three-year deal at Giuseppe Meazza after arriving on a free transfer from Atletico Madrid last summer but a few subpar performances have seen him struggle to make himself a regular in the Inter line-up.
This has given rise to the rumors that the Italian outfit, in an attempt to cut their losses, are preparing a hasty farewell for the Uruguayan veteran this summer.
Tottenham are considered to be in the front of the queue for securing his services. French side Lyon and a few clubs from MLS and Chinese Super League are also reportedly showing interest.
Godin, however, is in no mood to quit Inter and says the rumors suggesting a transfer away surprises him.
“The truth is that these news about my future away from Milan surprise me a lot,” Godin told Corriere dello Sport.
“I feel the club trusts me and I feel at home. I never considered leaving Inter. My intention is to respect the contract and enjoy this wonderful adventure in Italy and with the Nerazzurri shirt.
“Coming here was my choice and I did it with the intention of helping this club win titles, to win as much as possible.”
