I find it unbelievable in this day and age that club could pursue a player for $$millions : football

Adran Mutu – Romanian player with a bright future, ends up with a drug habit.

Gets sacked, suspended from the game and is still (many years on) being pursued by Chelsea FC for $15m GBP.

What happened to duty of care, or player welfare? Yeah – sack him, suspend him, etc etc…but surely, you’d want to try and help rehabilitate him, not break him financially?

Football appears badly broken at times, but this story certainly highlights just how broken it is.
