How new addition Momiki could thrive with OL Reign – Equalizer Soccer

    As well as new owners, a new name and a new crest, OL Reign go into the 2020 National Women’s Soccer League Challenge Cup with new talent. Of the latest arrivals, Yuka Nicole Momiki is arguably the most intriguing. She isn’t massively well-known outside of Japan, where she spent her whole career up to this point, but she does come with a good reputation and a promising scoring record at the international level.

    While featuring for reigning Asian club champions Nippon TV Beleza, and for for her country, the 24-year-old has played in a number of different positions – as an attacking No. 8 in a 4-3-3, or as a supporting striker or inverted right winger in a 4-4-2. She’s versatile, which is a quality that may help her force her way through intense competition for places into OL Reign’s line-up. But she brings so much more to the table than an ability to play multiple roles.

    Momiki’s style of play

    Most high-level offensive players have obvious signatures. They are clinical finishers, dribbling specialists, or penetrative playmakers. Momiki is a capable passer, dribbler and finisher, but her strongest feature is undoubtedly her dynamic movement.
