Horseman: The boys deserve all the credit

Southampton’s B head coach Dave Horseman hailed the resilience of his team following a hard-earned point at Premier League 2 leaders Liverpool.

Despite the game ending goalless there were plenty of chances for both sides in an end-to-end fixture.

Saints’ had Kingsley Latham and his back four to thank for withstanding waves of Liverpool pressure, particularly during the first half.

But second half came real attacking intent from Horseman’s side.

“Actually we should have scored a few and the boys are a bit disappointed we didn’t win the game in the end,” said Horseman.

“But I think you have to show the opposition massive respect because they did cause us a few problems first half which the back four and goalkeeper really did solve for us in the end.
