Manchester City are weighing up an approach for Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella, according to multiple reports.
The Daily Star initially claimed at the weekend that the Italian international is a target for the Premier League champions, while other news outlets have subsequently followed suit.
However, fans on X are split on the speculation, with some believing that Barella would be an excellent addition to the squad, while others are sceptical about City’s interest:
He would be a mega signing. What a player

Barella would be a great signing if he was available
Some reports have suggested that Inter would be willing to sell the 27-year-old if they receive a bid in the region of £70m to £75m.
However, that seems pretty unlikely considering that they only recently tied down Barella to a new contract back in June. It would be a surprise if the player is available for sale just a few months later.
Are City looking at any other midfielders?
The Cityzens have also been credited with an interest in Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi, Atalanta’s Ederson and Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton.
At this moment in time, it isn’t known whether the club are serious about reinforcing their options in the middle of the park during the January transfer window or whether they will wait until the summer.
